Challenges – every day just seems full of them. Of course, who better to turn to than God to help us through them? But sometimes I think I’m too chatty with God. “Do not keep on babbling like pagans,” Jesus said, “for they think they will be heard because of their many words”. If I’m babbling to God all the time, He doesn’t have a chance to share in his own thoughts. Maybe prayer at times should just be sitting in silence, and waiting for the gentle whisper of God’s voice that Elijah experienced. After all, God already knows what I need, and has a plan for me. I just have to give him a chance to tell me.
