Ask, seek, knock

Luke 11,5-13

How can you not be uplifted by this passage? Does God get tired hearing from us? Doesn’t sound like it. Is he pestered or bothered by our constant supplications? Even if he were, he’d relent. The Big Guy upstairs wants to hear from us. In Matthew’s Gospel, Jesus asserts God already knows what we need before we ask – but still he welcomes our asking.

When it comes to prayer, there’s no need to doubt God. If there’s ever any doubt to be found it’s in ourselves, in the lack of faith we exhibit at times that God will ultimately come through. We need to rest assured that God will never abandon us.

Dear God, we place our trust in you.
