“Resistance is futile.” So say the Borg from Star Trek when they are about to assimilate a new civilization into their collective. Can the same be said about God? This passage from Acts makes the case that when God sets out to do something, it’s going to happen. I don’t think that robs humanity of our free will: we still can make the choice to follow along or go our own way. So unlike the Borg, God won’t assimilate us without our consent, but ultimately his will still prevails.
I take comfort from the fact so long as I stay in God’s grace, victory is always assured. Your will be done God.
