I posted before about the power of storytelling in helping people heal. With that in mind I wanted to give a shout out to an effort that I became aware of several years ago called the “MyPaTH Story Booth”. The effort is a project initiated by a collection of health systems here in the northeast which have formed an organization (called PaTH) that promotes patient-centered research. The Story Booth is exactly what the name suggests: a mobile interview room that solicits patients and caregivers to simply recount their experiences with the health care system. These interviews form a collection of real-world testimonials that are helpful both researchers as well as fellow patients/caregivers who are coping with similar health care journeys.
