I am the vine

So many times in life we find ourselves asking “Where are you, God?” We feel alone, surrounded by others intent on doing us harm. We are like the author of Psalm 22 who appeals: “Do not stay far from me, for trouble is near, and there is no one to help.” But Jesus reminds us that He is with us at all times, as close to us as the vine is to the branch. When we find ourselves in times of trouble we need look no further than inside ourselves for the Lord’s strength.
